River Trekking in this activity you have a chance to witness the wild beauty of two unexplored gorges: The upper Voidomatis, and the Vikaki gorge! A very “special” activity, in which we can approach very narrow gorges, and enjoy swimming in crystal clear pools of the purest waters of Zagori. Our area is a paradise for canyons and rivers, all in the huge river bed of Vikos Gorge. We offer two separate rivers for hiking, and you can choose depending on the time of your arrival. The Vikaki gorge, is a narrow and impressively beautiful gorge, the little Vikos as they call it. The hike starts from the big village of Tsepelovo and ends in Kipi, and the nature in it is extraordinary! The upper Voidomatis, is a longer crossing, and starts in the heart of the Vikos Gorge, from the springs of the river to the bridge of Aristi, we cross geological formations of extreme interest and drink the cleanest right from the birth of water!

Hiking Vradeto Steps is  a great way to experience the  view  to the Vikos Gorge, a breath taking view, as we stand on the edge of the high cliffs. We start from the highest village of Zagori, Vradeto, towards a fantastic view point to the Vikos Gorge, a breath taking view, as we stand on the edge of the high cliffs! We return back to Vradeto, and we downhill the amazing stone path build at the side of the steep slopes of the area.

Birth of a river – Vikos Gorge. Crosses the heart of Vikos -Aoos National park and the Voidomatis springs, where a river is born! This moderate difficulty hike, crosses the heart of Vikos -Aoos National park, continues partly through the Vikos gorge where the hiker can dive into the crystal waters of the Voidomatis springs, where a river is born! The path finishes at the Vikos village as the way up brings astonishing views!   Visiting the ancient monastery (built in 1738) next to the springs is really worth an extra 10 minute walk.

Geological hike - From the Ice Age until today Much smaller in size to the neighboring Vikos gorge, the Voidomatis gorge features the crystal clear Voidomatis River as well as traditional stone bridges and Monasteries. The hike takes place on a hiking trail alongside the riverbank, highlighting magnificent views of century old plane trees, monasteries and caves that had been used as monk retreats once. The journey ends in Klidonia’s single arched stone bridge, where a refreshing dive in the crystal clear waters is an option for the brave!

It’s well known for being the deepest gorge in the country and for its big variety of wildlife.  Starting the long 12 km crossing we will have the chance to walk on 17th-century-built stone paths and see interesting geological formations. Uphilling the gorge reveals its natural and imposing beauty! The end of the hike rewards us with the natural highlight of the hike, crossing the Voidomatis River springs.

Snowshoeing during winter when all is covered in snow. A winter wonderland is around Zagori and we organize snowshoe hikes for everybody! During winter when all is covered in snow, the villagers have discovered ways to move on the deep snow. What we call today snowshoes were necessary for the people. A winter wonderland is around Zagori and we organize snowshoe hikes for everybody! Our meeting point is at Vradeto, the highest Zagori village, and we hike towards Beloi viewpoint and the highest peak of Avgerinos. The hikes take place depending on the snow conditions. Mountain Biking Through the Oaks: Ride your MTB through the evergreen oak forest of Riziana and over the famous stone bridges of Zagori. From tarmac to dirt roads and asphalt, the ride offers spectacular views of the Timfi mountains. Our guides will provide you with information about the architectural and engineering features of the Zagori arched bridges.

The legendary alpine drakolimni hike starts from the village of Mikro Papigo in a wonderful forest. This is "alpine style" hiking as we ascent to the high medows of Mt. Timfi and climb to the highest points of Zagori! As soon as we reach Astraka’s mountain refuge, located at an altitude of 1950m we will enjoy a lunch and then continue our hike towards the mythical dragonlake. The north side of the lake offers breathtaking views of the Smolikas mountain range and Aoos valley, whereas the east side offers wonderful views of the northwest Gamilla peak.

Bridges & Villages of Zagori: Hiking the famous network of footpaths and bridges of central Zagori is definitely a “must do”! The participant has the chance to walk on several stone-made, arched bridges, mainly built in the 17th century which used to connect the central Zagori villages. In Koukouli village we shall visit the “Lazaridi’s Museum” where one can discover rare endemic plant collections, traditionally used by the so-called “Doctors of Vikos”. A hike ideal for introducing you to the rich world of Zagori!
