In the morning we drive to the area of Prionia. We start our climbing on the mountain of Gods and up to 2.200 meters we pass through a forest of “Abies”. From that height on the forest becomes rarer and the only tree that remains is the “Pinus heldreichii”. Lunch, dinner & overnight stay at the refuge Spilios Agapitos.

On day 2 our goal will be the conquest of the most infamous tops of the mountain of Gods “Olympus” at a height of 2.911 meters. Then, we hike under the impressive high cliffs of Mitikas (2918m) and Stefani (2909m) towards the plateau of the Muses, and conclude our day with our arrival to the small refuge “Kakalos”, named after the first Greek who ascended Mitikas peak at 1913. Dinner & overnight stay at the refuge.

An impressive walk at the North side of Mt. Olympus follows. We walk on alpine terrain, ridges and through dense pine forest, until we finally reach the location of Gortzia.
