Hiking Vradeto Steps
Hiking Vradeto steps will transport you back in time to when the stone masons were building amazing constructions. The “Skala” (staircase) is one of the great architectural wonders of Zagori.
We combine the hike with a short walk to the breathtaking Beloi view point overlooking Vikos gorge. The views from Beloi are breathtaking! Bellow our feet lies the deepest gorge in the world, according to the Guinness book of records.

We start from the highest village of Zagori, Vradeto, and after a very easy hike we go all the way to the view point overlooking Vikos Gorge.
After our break we return back to little Vradeto village for a walk around, definitely making a stop at the traditional "kafenio" of the village. That is the place to meet the locals and hear stories about the village.
Vradeto is the highest village of Zagori, and the reason for building it in that location was the proximity to the summer pastures. All of the locals used to be shepherds, and the only way to communicate with the rest of the world was the Vradeto steps, until 1975, when the car road was built!
As we leave the village, we start the amazing walk down the steps, an architectural wonder built on the steep slopes of the mountain with an altitude difference of 250 meters, and at the end of it, two beautiful bridges.
At the end of the hike we have the chance to visit the village of Kapesovo, another historical and picturesque village with an amazing village square!
